A little about me. When I was a child and teenager our family would explore the Australian bush with a 4WD vehicle. We would visit natural wonders and other places of interest, bushwalk, camp, and enthuse in other forms of outdoor adventure. While doing that I always had a keen interest in how 4WD vehicles were designed, how they performed, and how they could be designed better.
My playthings progressed from a collection of matchbox cars, to enough technical Lego to be able to explore my own designs, then on to remote control cars with scope for complex suspension tuning.
As a teenager I studied textbooks about suspension and chassis design, and became a walking encyclopedia of almost every 4WD that has ever existed. Soon I would own my own cars and modify them in various ways, testing theories, analysing performance, etc.
