(competitor recovery points are often made from mild steel with yield strengths from 250MPa to 350MPa, steel recovery points for these vehicles typically weigh 5kg per side).

Bolts grade 12.9 supplied

Shackles are not included

I have done Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on the recovery points and bolts.  I have not done FEA on the Toyota chassis rails or captive nuts.  However, the design maximises the loads that the chassis and captive nuts can handle.

Recovery point and bolt maximum strengths for corner style:
- 6 Tonne forward load from front location with a Factor Of Safety (F.O.S) of 3
- 2 Tonne sideward load from side location with a F.O.S. of 2 (snatching sideways is not recommended)

Maximum strengths for straight style:
- 6 Tonne forward load from front location with a F.O.S. of 3
- 6 Tonne downward load from the middle location with a F.O.S of 3
- 1.5 Tonne sideward load from the middle location with a F.O.S of 2 (snatching sideways is not recommended)

Having two attachment locations maximises the strengths for different pull directions, creates easy access, and adds options during tricky recoveries where you might need to pull sideways/downwards whilst also pulling forwards.

One of the purchase options is for recovery points to suit the 100 Series when it is fitted with the ARB bullbar that has the plates protruding downwards.  The RHS recovery point for this extends 15mm further forwards to give better clearance for the tow/snatch strap/rope from the front downplate, and is 3mm narrower to fit within the side downplates.
